Se il dischetto è stato formattato prima del 1995 circa, si può scoprire che l'elemento più difficile da ottenere è il supporto del sistema operativo per il file system sul dischetto. La ragione è che Windows dopo il 95 richiede l'impostazione di un singolo byte descrittore del supporto nel BIOS Parameter Block (BPB). Potresti dover usare un vecchio sistema operativo. Alternatively,
- Use GNU DDRESCUE to copy the diskette image to a disk file,
- Use a hex editor to patch the media descriptor byte setting in the BIOS Parameter Block (BPB).
- Mount the diskette image as a file system.
- Copy the files from the diskette image.
