A parte le app preinstallate come Reading List, Reader e tutte le app di Bing che sono tutte molto utili, queste sono alcune delle mie preferite:

- VLC per Windows 8.1 (ha bisogno di alcuni miglioramenti però)
- Bing Wikipedia Browser (meglio dell'app ufficiale di Wikipedia)

- MusiXmatch - Permette di trovare e abbinare i testi
- Watchlist - Tieni traccia dei tuoi programmi TV preferiti, si sincronizza con Trakt.tv
- Hyper per YouTube, Primetube, Touche per Youtube- Le migliori applicazioni YouTube sullo Store
- Nook - Ottimo per leggere gli epub memorizzati localmente.
- Cover - For reading locally stored (or in the cloud) comic books and mangas
- Code Writer - Free text and code editor app with active syntax highlighting
- HERE Maps - You can download the maps for offline use
- TimeMe Tile - Clock tile for your Start Screen with loads of customization options
- MinimaList - To-do app for managing lists
- OneNote/Evernote
- LastPass
- TeamViewer/Remote Desktop
- 8 Zip
- India specific: IRCTC Official, NTES app (National Train Enquiry System) app, RedBus.in, JustDial, Newshunt
