Ripristino del Menu Contestuale Classico

In Windows 11 (including in 2025), the right-click context menu was redesigned into a simplified version compared to Windows 10, which many users find less functional or convenient. However, it is possible to restore the classic full context menu (similar to Windows 10) by editing the Windows Registry with the following procedure:

  1. Open the Windows Terminal or Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Run these three commands in sequence:
reg add "HKCUSOFTWARECLASSESCLSID{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}InprocServer32" /ve /f
taskkill /im explorer.exe /f
explorer.exe

This adds a registry key that forces Windows 11 to display the classic right-click menu again. After restarting Explorer, right-click menus will revert to the full Windows 10 style.

If you want to restore back to the default Windows 11 simplified right-click menu, run these commands:

reg delete "HKCUSOFTWARECLASSESCLSID{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}" /f
taskkill /im explorer.exe /f
explorer.exe

This will delete the key and restart Explorer, bringing back the Windows 11 default menu.

Additional tips:

  • You can also open the classic menu temporarily by pressing Shift + F10 when right-clicking.
  • To apply registry edits safely, always back up the registry beforehand.
  • Restarting the Windows Explorer process refreshes the menu behavior without rebooting the entire PC.

This solution remains valid and widely recommended for Windows 11 users in 2025 who want the classic right-click menu experience instead of the new simplified menu introduced with Windows 11 [1] [2] [4] [9].
