FantaSanremo 2025: Nuove Regole e Strategie

FantaSanremo 2025 is the latest edition of the unofficial fantasy game that runs parallel to the Sanremo Music Festival, with several new features in its rules and team composition ^[1]. The game remains immensely popular in Italy, with over 1.7 million users and more than 350,000 private leagues expected for this edition ^[1].

For 2025, each player must register on the official site by 23:59 on Monday, February 10, and create a team by selecting 7 artists from the 29 contestants, all within a budget of 100 "Baudi" (the game’s virtual currency) ^[1]. Teams now consist of 5 starters who earn points through bonuses and penalties, and 2 substitutes who contribute only through extra bonuses ^[1]. A key new feature is that the Captain role is decisive every night, and points for the Captain are doubled; the Captain can also be changed daily before each show ^[1].

Points are awarded based on various actions and occurrences during the festival:

• Final placement: Winner receives 100 points, with decreasing points for lower placements. The last place gets a humorous 30-point bonus ^[1].
• Evening awards: Extra points for prizes like the Critics’ or Press Room awards ^[1].
• Bonuses and penalties: Fun or unpredictable stage moments can earn or lose points (e.g., a “high five” to the Mike Bongiorno statue, using flames, or costume-related points) ^[1].

The detailed list of bonuses and penalties for each night is kept secret until a few hours before the start, making strategy and adaptability key ^[1].

FantaSanremo is played for fun and “eternal glory”—there is no real cash prize, but symbolic trophies will be awarded this year for the most creative and enterprising players ^[1].

Some favorites for 2025, according to bookmakers, include Achille Lauro (the most expensive and popular captain), Elodie, Irama, Rkomi, Rose Villain, and Willie Peyote, while Giorgia and Olly are seen as strong contenders for the win ^[1].

Not all coverage is positive: one opinion piece criticized the mainstream popularity of the game, arguing it removes spontaneity from the festival and makes performances too self-conscious ^[4].

The official site for playing and creating teams is fantasanremo.com ^{[5] [6]}. Official updates, highlights, and media can also be found on their Instagram page ^[7].
