To lock the dollar symbol in an Excel cell, precede the $ sign before the cell and column references. This way, when you copy the formula =$A$2+$B$2 from C2 to D2, the formula remains unchanged, maintaining the original cell reference.
When creating a formula in Excel, you can apply the dollar sign ($) by pressing the F4 function key while the cursor is next to or inside a cell reference.
