To disable the chat feature in Messenger, follow these steps:
- Click on the gear icon (Options) on the same line a little to the right to turn off the chat.
- A window will open containing all the necessary commands to change the settings.
- Select the "Disable chat" option to deactivate it.
To disable a conversation in Messenger, follow these steps:
- Press and hold the group chat you want to delete on the chat screen.
- Select "More options" after selecting Leave group.
- Finally, select Leave.
To end a chat conversation, you can use the most appropriate method for the situation:
- Say "thank you and goodbye"
- End with a smile even in chat
- Make an urgent phone call
- Manage public relations
- Ask for directions to the bathroom
- Use the drink tactic
- Plan to continue in the future
- Exchange business cards
If someone blocks you on Messenger, they will not be able to make calls or video calls. To access your chat, open Messenger on your smartphone or tablet, or log in to the chat from your PC using Facebook or the official Messenger website.
When you disable Facebook Messenger chat, your Facebook name is removed from the contact list. As a result, you will no longer appear as active in the chat list and the contact list of your friends. Your name will not have active or inactive icons next to it.
To avoid receiving messages from unknown people on Facebook, use the "Ignore" button on Messenger. The "Ignore" button allows you to not receive any notifications when you receive messages from strangers and is a more relaxed alternative to blocking.
To delete a chat on WhatsApp:
- For Android: Tap the vertical ellipsis icon to access the Settings menu. Then select "More" and click on "Clear chat".
- For iOS: Remove a chat from the WhatsApp iOS device.
To delete your WhatsApp account:
- For Android: Launch the application and tap the (…) button.
- For iPhone: Launch the application, select the Settings tab, go to the Account section, and choose "Delete account" from the application menu.
Please note that deleting a WhatsApp chat will also delete the following statistics:
- Every message sent and received.
- Incoming and outgoing calls.
- Bytes transmitted and received through media, calls, and messages.
- The total number of bytes sent and received.
