Excessive formatting in an Excel workbook can lead to larger file sizes and lower performance. If entire columns or rows are formatted with colors or borders, the formatting is considered excessive.
In the Print section of the Page Layout tab, select the Fit to checkbox. Enter 1 in the "page width" box. Enter 0 in the page height box to indicate no page count. Select Print in the File menu.
Therefore, to reduce the size of an Excel file, locate the Excel file using Windows Explorer and right-click on the file to compress it. Finally, choose to "compress the content to save disk space…" as the printer has a smaller size. The output may appear very small on a larger sheet than originally designed for the document, depending on the document content, original page size, and assigned typographic properties to the text.
