To find the coordinates of a location, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Maps application on your Android device.

To input coordinates in Google Earth, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Earth.
  2. In the left panel, enter the coordinates in the search box using one of the following formats:
    • Decimal degrees, such as 37.7° and -122.2°.
  3. The entered coordinates will be automatically zoomed in by Google Earth and displayed in the bottom-right corner.

If you want to copy coordinates found on Google Maps to your Android clipboard, follow these steps:

  1. Long press on the search bar at the top.
  2. Select the "Select All" option from the menu that appears.
  3. Finally, choose "Copy" to copy the coordinates.

The coordinates displayed on Google Maps can be sent in one of the following formats:

  • Degrees, minutes, and seconds (DMS): GPS coordinates are 41° 53′ 24.8"N 12° 29′ 32.8"E.
  • Alternatively, degrees and decimal minutes (DMM): The GPS address is 41° 53′ 24.7842" and 12° 29′ 32.7618.
  • In the Google Maps search bar, search for the desired coordinates.

The methods to obtain UTM WGS84 coordinates are as follows:

  1. Right-click on the point you want and select "What’s here."
  2. The coordinates of the point will be displayed at the bottom.
  3. By clicking on it, you can access a new screen on the left that provides a summary using both the DMS and WGS84 systems.

In UTM coordinates, the first number is known as the "easting." The orientation towards the east indicates the position towards the east. The numbers along the edges of the map correspond to the UTM coordinates. The map has Easting coordinates on the top and bottom sides.

For practical use, the Google Earth program can display coordinates in UTM and degree format. To find the "View lat/long" panel, go to Tools and select "Options."

Google Maps also directly provides coordinates in the "Decimal degrees" format, which is compatible with WGS84. Set the coordinate recognition to "Decimal degrees" (format compatible with WGS84) in Google Earth.

Come si leggono le coordinate geografiche?
Gradi Minuti (notazione nautica, GG° MM. Un esempio è 52° 12.2345' N(Nord), 12° 44.5678' E(Est), dove il primo numero è un numero intero che rappresenta i gradi (D=grado) e deve essere compreso tra -180 e 180. Il secondo numero indica i minuti come numero intero o decimale da 0 a 59.999999.
