To set a PS5 account as the "primary" account in 2025, you need to activate the console sharing and offline play feature for that account on your PS5. This is how it works:

  1. Turn on your PS5 and log in to the account you want to make primary.

  2. Go to Settings (gear icon at the top right of the home screen).

  3. Select Users and Accounts.

  4. Scroll down and choose Other.

  5. Select Console Sharing and Offline Play.

  6. Enable this option to set your PS5 as the primary console for that account.

Setting an account as primary enables sharing of digital games, PlayStation Plus subscription benefits, and offline play with other users on the same console. Only one account can be set as primary on a PS5 at a time. If you want to change the primary account, you disable this setting on the current primary and enable it on another account by following the same steps [1] [2] [5].

For creating or adding new PSN accounts on PS5 (relevant for managing multiple accounts), you go to your profile icon on the home screen, select switch user or add user, and follow prompts to sign in or create a new account [3] [4].

These steps remain current and authoritative for 2025 based on recent guides and official info.
